Coinciding with national Pride Month, President Biden recently took action to expand access to medical services, reduce stigma in treating patients with unique needs and break down barriers to care for the LGBTQI+ community.

This June, the celebration of Pride month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of LGBTQ people around the world, promote dignity and equal rights, and raise awareness of important issues facing the community, such as how to overcome barriers to equity in healthcare.

The Supreme Court ruling that a landmark civil rights law prohibits employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and transgender status will provide an estimated 8.1 million LGBTQ Americans additional workplace protections.

The Supreme Court is deliberating on whether employment discrimination against LGBTQ employees is prohibited according to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. If the court determines this law bans employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and transgender status, millions of employees across the nation would gain additional workplace protections.
